Happy Monday, but
more importantly Happy June!!
I can’t believe that
this year has flown by so fast! School is almost out (3 more days locally!) and
the population here at the beach is getting ready to explode!! Brighter, longer, hotter days are here and I LOVE
it!! Don’t you!??!?!?!
Hopefully you are coming off
just as amazing of a weekend as I am! It was full inspiration from Juice Plus Allstars plus
time with my two favorite people in the entire world: my man and his son!
Legos, movies, books, Putt-Putt, Sharkteeth, swimming in the pool (my first
saltwater, and I am a total fan), and our new tradition “Taco Sunday” – we had
such a blast together and that’s yet another reason that I am so excited about
this summer and the memories we’ll make.
Okay, okay, I guess
that’s enough about me and my fun because I’m sure that you are all on the edge
of your seats wondering about the first in the second half of the Pre-PregnancyMomma’s 10 Commandments ;) Perhaps this
may go without saying, but a Pre-Pregnancy Momma has an ideal in her head of
what Mom Life will look like for her. Is she a stay at home mom? Does she work
fulltime/part-time? Is Daddy staying home with the kids? Who’s cooking? Where
and What kind of home will they be living? Lots of questions come up when
thinking about your future family and can be quite fun, but it’s also
important. It can take quite a lot of pre-planning, work and preparation to
ensure that you will be able to live the family life you desire and ensure that
your kids have everything you want to provide for them. Her ideal is a goal
that she actively works toward achieving.
Commandment 6: Commandment
5: She Works toward Achieving Her Ideal
“Mom Life”
I think this is
really the commandment that convinced Chris, my significant other, to not be
terrified by the fact that I was writing about Pregnancy…even after explaining
that this is just my why in a journey toward health and wellbeing. It was the
idea that it was somewhat about timing and that with caring for my kids before
they are here, I needed and wanted to have certain things in place (like a ring ahem ahem!) (and marriage! cough! Cough!) prior to
bringing them into the world. He’s on board now and appreciates my love and
care for our future littles, but it was sort of a sigh of relief that okay, she’s
not wanting to be pregnant right now.

My First Dream Board in progress... it just happened to be all about family! |
I began working
toward my ideal Mom Life over a little over a year ago when I was serving. I
loved the job, the people that I worked with, and the money was good, but it’s
hard work physically and psychologically when guests constantly cut you down,
ignorant of the difference between “server” and “servant”. Knowing what I did
about pregnancy, I remember thinking to myself that there’s no way I could do
this pregnant. Since the time I had been employed there (three years) there was
– without fail – consistently an employee who was pregnant. I was always pretty
impressed by them thinking How do are
they doing this!!? I figured that I would be at home doing nothing but
taking care of baby lol! And I didn’t really see having the strength to do it
any other way…I didn’t really want to do it any other way. But at that time my
ideal and my career path where never going to meet. Being a server was never
going to allow the luxury of being a stay at home mom let alone homeschool my
kiddos.
As far back as I can
recall, there are only two unwavering things that stand out in my mind that I’ve
wanted to be: a mom and a writer. Additionally I’d found my passion and purpose
in Health so I went from there and figured out how to work from home. I was
already underway getting my Certification for Health Coaching at IIN which
would set me up perfectly to work from home. After my final summer serving, I
quit to work on setting up my very own business as a Health Coach which taught
me two very important things: starting a business is HARD and I am not a
natural Entrepreneur. That, I was going to have to work at and take a real honest look
at my strengths and move forward. It’s a good thing I started then because
I know that I would have achieved my ideal by the time I’m pregnant.

There is no right or
wrong Mom Life. What exactly fits for me probably won’t exactly fit for you. The
important thing is A Pre-Pregnancy Momma is Proactive and works toward achieving the life that
she wants. Sometimes life happens and you don’t get to choose – even then you
can’t let happenstance stop you from living the life that you crave. In some
ways I feel like I am super lucky that the universe has afforded me this time
to really choose and work toward the exact life that I want to have. Oprah said
“You get in life what you have the courage to ask for” and I also think that
You get in life what you have the courage to work for. If it’s worth it then
you’ll work for it; and really that is applicable to everyone, not just a Pre-Pregnancy Momma, who desires the life that they have always dreamed of.
What would make your ideal Mom Life? How are you achieving the life that you have always wanted?? Share with me your Dream Boards!! Need Help getting Motivated or Defining your Goals? Email me!
